Background

Team Expansion is a nonprofit organization that's active in about 50 countries. We are engaged in such activities as:
  • refugee resettlement
  • trauma-informed counseling
  • feeding projects
  • humanitarian aid of all kinds
Our previous CRM software was an open-source publication, which wasn’t upgraded very often and didn’t feel very intuitive. People in the office just avoided it and created their own spreadsheets, which resulted in a fractured and inefficient way of trying to communicate with those who made Team Expansion's work possible.

Challenge

Something had to change. We looked through 200 different CRM solutions, ranging from the expensive ones everyone's heard about (costing $75 per user) to the lesser-known free ones. Somewhere in that range, we came across Bitrix24.

Although Bitrix24 offers a very powerful free package for evaluation, we were also pleasantly surprised by the encryption that could take care of us end-to-end, even encryption at rest.

The fact that Bitrix24 offers a lot of different components allowed us to bring together into one platform many of the varied things we were doing, addressing the fractured environment we'd been struggling with.

Bitrix24 also stood out due to its affordable pricing and wide choice of tools, allowing our team to manage:
  • leads (we had about 30,000)
  • contacts (about 1,000 people)
  • deals
The flexibility of Bitrix24 enabled us to democratize development, empowering people in different departments to develop their own pipelines, even though none of them had proper IT background.

Thanks to the excellent training videos from Bitrix24, we were able to teach everyone – from young 23- and 24-year-olds to seasoned department heads – to start building and managing their pipelines.

Solution

Four months since we first started exploring Bitrix24, we are already using it far more than we ever did our previous CRM. We looked at tons of alternatives for both nonprofit and for-profit worlds – Salesforce, and many others – but at the end of the day, I'm convinced Bitrix24 is working better for us and could work for others too.
